On the morning of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh:, His Excellency LY Chantola, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Vice Chairman, and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), dispatched five legal experts from the General Secretariat of the Legal Reform Steering Committee to attend the Verification Workshop on the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection. The workshop was presided over by H.E. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia (TBC), and H.E. Kong Phallack, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.
The Verification Workshop on the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection aimed to disseminate the final draft of the law to ministries, institutions, the private sector, and relevant stakeholders who had previously provided inputs. The event was attended by representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the National Council for Khmer Language, the Council of Jurists, the Economic, Social and Cultural Council, as well as representatives from the General Secretariat of the Legal Reform Steering Committee and national and international stakeholders.
