1. A roundtable discussion led by Professor Veronica Taylor with doctoral candidates at the School of Regulation and Global Governance of the Australian National University, former officials, and senior officials who have worked in the areas of legal and regulatory reform in Australia and New Zealand;
2. Mr Terry Hills, Acting Head of the Office of Impact Analysis within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet;
3. Ms Meredith Leigh, First Parliamentary Counsel and Head of the Office of Parliamentary Counsel of the Australian Government;
4. Ms Ruth Barson, Executive Director of the Australian Law Reform Commission; and
5. Professor Andrew Godwin, Director of the Master of Laws Program at Melbourne Law School, the University of Melbourne, Special Counsel, and former Executive Director of the Australian Law Reform Commission.
The study visit followed a capacity-building course on strengthening legal system reform in Cambodia and was intended to connect theoretical learning with practical experience.
With the approval of His Excellency Vongsey Vissoth, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, and Chairman of the Legal Reform Committee, His Excellency Ly Chantola, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee, designated Mr Din Siden, Legal Expert, to represent the General Secretariat of the Legal Reform Committee on a study visit to Australia to learn about institutional development and legal reform. During the study visit, the representative of the General Secretariat of the Legal Reform Committee met with the following institutions and individuals:
