On Friday, 23 October 2026, in Manila, Philippines, during the 11th ASEAN–OECD Good Regulatory Practice Network (GRPN) Meeting, H.E. LY Chantola, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), along with legal experts from the LRC General Secretariat, met with representatives from the ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme (EIP) for a bilateral discussion to strengthen cooperation on legal and regulatory reform.
The EIP delegation was led by Ms. Zoe Dayan, Senior Regulatory Reform Attaché, UK Mission to ASEAN: ASEAN-UK Economic Integration Programme.
The meeting focused on Cambodia’s regulatory reform priorities, particularly reforming the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) framework, developing a National Policy on Good Regulatory Practices (GRP), reviewing and simplifying existing regulations, and exploring the development of a digital regulatory management system.
The discussion also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences on regulatory reform in ASEAN Member States, explore potential technical assistance and capacity-building support from EIP, and discuss the possibility of establishing a dedicated Cambodia workstream to support the country’s legal and regulatory reform efforts.
