H.E. LY Chantola, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), attended a meeting to discuss the Concept Note on the preparation of the Commercial Code for Cambodia.

On the afternoon of Thursday, 30 July 2026, at the Office of the Council of Ministers, H.E. LY Chantola, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), accompanied by H.E. Penn Bunchea, Deputy Secretary-General of the LRC, legal experts, and interns of the General Secretariat of the LRC, attended a meeting to discuss the draft contents of the Commercial Code for Cambodia and the draft decision on the establishment of the working group responsible for preparing the Commercial Code for Cambodia.
The meeting was held under the high presidency of H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and Vice-Chairman of the LRC. The meeting aimed to review and discuss the key components to be included in the Commercial Code, as well as to ensure sufficient preparation for the commencement of the process of preparing the Commercial Code.
The preparation of the Commercial Code is a complex project that requires an in-depth study of drafting methodologies and supporting mechanisms, together with a coordination strategy involving ministries, institutions, the private sector, and development partners.
