We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the distinguished international experts and resource persons, namely:
1. Prof. Dr. ANNE-SOPHIE LAFFITTE-MILARD, Lecturer in Law at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Researcher at the Sorbonne Institute of Legal Research, and PhD in Comparative Law;
2. Mrs. ELIZABETH CATTA, Honorary Advocate General at the Paris Court of Appeal and former member of the High Commission for Cambodia;
3. Mr. KAZUAKI TAKAHASHI, Representative of the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific; and
4. Mr. SAKANO Issei, Advisor to the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Cambodia. They kindly volunteered to participate as speakers in the symposium on “The Development of the Commercial Code for Cambodia,” which was held on 24 June 2026 at Sokha Hotel, Phnom Penh. The symposium served as a forum for gathering, dialogue, discussion, debate, exchange of ideas, perspectives, and practical experiences, as well as for providing inputs, comments, and, in particular, research papers under each relevant topic concerning the development of the Commercial Code for Cambodia.
The symposium also contributed to moving toward the coherence and integrity of the implementation of legal instruments in the commercial sector, in line with Cambodia’s values in the context of globalization, through a clear structure embedded with the philosophy of the rule of law, ethical values, social norms, traditions, customs of Cambodia, and the promotion of a rule-of-law culture.
