H.E. Ly Chantola, Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), attended the Pre-course Orientation program for the training course entitled “Strengthening Capacity in Legal System Reform in Cambodia.”
On Thursday morning, 19 February 2026, via Zoom video conference, H.E. Ly Chantola, Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), accompanied by H.E. Pen Buncha, Deputy Secretary-General of the LRC, along with the legal consultants of the LRC, participated in the Pre-course Orientation program for the training course on “Strengthening Capacity in Legal System Reform in Cambodia.” This orientation session served as a foundation for the upcoming training course and was conducted with Professor Veronica Taylor, Professor of Law and Regulation at the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet), Australian National University; Mr. Michael Sadlon, Team Leader of Australia Awards Cambodia; and Ms. Leisha Lister, Senior Legal Adviser of the ASEAN-Australia Counter Trafficking Program (ASEAN-ACT). The objective of the training is to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and institutional capacity of senior and technical officials of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC) and relevant stakeholders to effectively implement the Strategic Framework of the Royal Government’s Legal Reform Program. The program aims to enhance competencies in legislative drafting, legal compilation and dissemination, monitoring and evaluation of laws, conflict resolution mechanisms, and legal harmonization, while promoting best practices, digital modernization, and stronger collaboration between Cambodia and Australia. The Pre-course Orientation program was attended by Excellencies, distinguished leaders, members of the Council of Jurists, and relevant officials.
