On the morning of Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Senate Building of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Excellency LY Chantola, Secretary of State of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Vice Chairman, and Secretary-General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), attended the Extraordinary Session of the 5th Legislature of the Senate to deliberate and provide opinions on four important draft laws, namely Agenda Items 1, 2, 3, and 4, which were subsequently approved without amendment by 58 votes, representing the total number of Senate members.
Agenda Item 1: The Draft Law on the Approval of the Accession of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment.
Agenda Item 2: The Draft Law on the Approval of the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Mutual Recognition Arrangements.
Agenda Item 3: The Draft Law on the Approval of the ASEAN Sectoral Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Building and Construction Materials.
Agenda Item 4: The Draft Law on the Approval of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Type Approval for Automotive Products.
The session was presided over by His Excellency UCH Borith, First Vice President of the Senate, with the participation of 58 Senators.
As a result, the Senate unanimously approved all four draft laws-Agenda Items 1, 2, 3, and 4-without amendment, with 58 votes in favor, representing the total number of Senate members.
The meeting was also attended by the Second Vice President of the Senate, Their Excellencies, Lok Chumteavs, Senators, and representatives of the Royal Government.
