H.E. Ly Chantola, Deputy Chairman and Secretary General of the LRC, Assigned Legal Consultants for a Study Visit to Malaysia and the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC)
H.E. Ly Chantola, Deputy Chairman and Secretary General of the Legal Reform Committee (LRC), assigned Mrs. Pen Linna and Ms. Phok Sereyrothana, Legal specialists of the LRC, to participate in a two-day study visit to Malaysia and a dedicated mission at the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) from March 12 to 13, 2026. The mission was concluded with great success.
The delegation for this study visit consisted of 10 members, including Secretaries of State and deputy-Secretaries of State from the Office of the Council of Ministers, as well as representatives from the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC), the Council of Jurists, and the Legal Reform Committee.
The primary objective of this study visit was to study and understand the legal and institutional frameworks, as well as the roles and responsibilities of relevant institutions in implementing Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) in Malaysia, which is recognized as one of the most effective practitioners of RIA within the ASEAN region. Furthermore, the visit aimed to extract best practices from Malaysia to consider for implementation within the specific context of Cambodia.
